Fundraising for endometriosis research

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women during the prime of their lives. This is more than 100 million women across the world during their reproductive years!

Let us work together towards preventing this devastating disease affecting the next generation of women.

There are many ways in which you can get involved in raising funds to make a difference - you can arrange a fundraiser yourself, contribute to one, or simply make a donation.

Whichever way you chose to get involved, we appreciate your committment to nurture research and to contribute to the prevention of endometriosis in the next generation of women!

Current fundraising initiatives:

2010 calendar raises funds for WERF!

Ilda Jacobsen chose WERF as her charity when she teamed up wtih 11 other women - and one photographer - to create a beautiful calendar to raise funds for medical research into 12 conditions, including endometriosis.

Recent fundraisers:

Rachel, Kerri and Dallon ran the Pisa half marathon on 18 October 2009, and raised £299.50

Associazione Italiana Endometriosi Onlus (AIE) pooled their members to contribute enough funds to raise €1,100 towards WERF's General Research Fund.

The AIE has partnered with WERF to work towards improved treatments of endometriosis through raising funds for basic reserach programmes.

Richard Goodall ran the Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon on 31 May 2009 on behalf of women with endometriosis.

Richard raised £470 for WERF, which he chose as his charity after watching a close family member being very badly affected by this disease over the last year.

Vice president of the European Parliament, Diana Wallis MEP, made a giant leap for women with endometriosis as she started with a single step and ran the London Marathon on 26 April 2009 in 5 hours and 22 minutes.

Diana braved the heat, pushed on and ran for 100 million women in the world with endometriosis, and raised £3461.55 for WERF!

Ways in which you can get involved yourself:

Fundraising events not only raise money for a good cause. They are part of raising awareness of the disease and involve getting friends together for a common theme.

Do consider:

  • Donations instead of gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, etc

  • A sponsored walk/bike ride | having your hair cut off | slimming | etc.

  • A book sale at work

  • A fundraising dinner, barbeque, tea party, picnic, etc.

  • Selling your creative work at a crafts fair
  • A ball (dinner and dance) in a nice hotel

  • An art exhibition with a drinks reception
  • Running a marathon

  • Doing a sponsored parachute jump

  • Climbing a mountain

  • Trekking in Cuba

  • Walking the Chinese wall

  • Any other idea? - give us a call!!

Which ever way you choose...

...we are here to support you. We are grateful that you want to support women with endometriosis, and help us prevent endometriosis in the next generration of women. Thank you for your commitment!

PLEASE CONTACT US so that we can work together to make your fundraising event a success!

By the way... all donations actually go to research! All WERF wants is a generation of women who are not crippled by pain nor prevented from having children due to endometriosis. You can help contribute to this!
