Clinical
trials in endometriosis
The key mission of the World Endometriosis
Research Foundation is to facilitate and carry out well
powered international multi-centre clinical trials involving
sufficient patient numbers to provide results of statistical
significance.
The Foundation has just closed its
first call for proposals (deadline 20 August 2007) and
is in the process of peer reviewing applications. Proposals
will be rated according to priority taking into account
the following criteria:
• addressing an unmet clinical
need in the management of endometriosis
• scientific excellence
• ability to set this up as an international multi-centre
trial.
Proposals will be reviewed by the Foundation's
Peer Review Board.
The Foundation will make an announcement
by the end of the year about which clinical trial(s)
it will be funded in 2008.
