Dr. Stafford-Bell obtained his medical
degrees from The Royal London Hospital in 1966, returned
as Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1969 and
became Senior Registrar, Obstetrics and Gynaecology
at Guy's Hospital in 1971 where he worked until 1974.
During that time he developed his interest in infertility
and endometriosis.
He has been in private clinical practice
in Australia since 1975 with particular clinical and
research interests in infertility, high grade endometriosis
presenting as infertility and in assisted reproduction.
Dr. Stafford-Bell co-founded the The
Canberra Fertility Centre in 1985 of which he is medical
director. He has previously held positions as council
member on the Australian Post Graduate Federation in
Medicine, Chairman of the Canberra Division of the Australian
Association of Surgeons, and as Secretary of the Australian
IVF Directors Group.
Dr. Stafford-Bell is a founding board
member of the World Endometriosis Research Foundation.
